I made these three quilts for my son while I was pregnant (and a bit neurotic). They were machine pieced and quilted. My kind mother hand sewed the binding on all three while she was in the hospital waiting room just after he was born and while my husband and I got to know our new baby boy. *[What an awesome Grandmom.]
I love all three. You have inspired me to attempt to make a quilt now!

all of them beautiful... but yes, that map quilt... was it a 'map' fabric? did you draw/print it?
Gorgeous.

For the map quilt, I sewed together four handkerchiefs I had purchased at MUJI.

I love them all !! But the maps are really impressive. Being a Parisien, I instantly recognized the spiral shape of the city !

Genius! I'm totally copying the map thing. Love it.

Cool.
With the handkerchiefs: Be sure to trim off the finished edges before piecing (I made the mistake of not trimming them and found the seams too bulky. So, I had to unpick, trim, and re-sew. Not fun!).
I also used a "walking foot" on my machine -- which Brooke Reynolds gave me -- thanks Brooke!

These are beautiful quilts. I am going to copy the map one too. I really love it! Thanks for the advice about trimming the edges. I couldn't tell from the photo - did you stipple the maps?
