On Saturday, I picked up these four New York Times Historic Puzzles (Parker Brothers, 1968) at an estate sale in NJ. The whole lot was only $2! The puzzles were down in the home's basement stacked and one was labelled in wobbly script, "All pieces 10/18/00." Each box contains 500 diecut cardboard, interlocking pieces. I think puzzles are therapeutic. *[Get one here and here. *[Having a slow day? Peruse some of my work in the NY Times Magazine.]
Amazing! I LOVE these! They look close to impossible, though :)

Thanks Jordan. It's nice to be back. It's amazing how much you can get done when you (and your baby) sleep through the night. It feels good.

Catch the store label. Those puzzles are from Two Guys, a New Jersey relic from way way back before the era of Wal Mart and Target. The one we went to had a supermarket, all the regular department store stuff, an excellent record selection, and pinball machines.

Thanks for that bit of history. I was wondering about the Two Guys sticker. Too bad they aren't still around!
